Converter and induction coils – together they are the heart of every induction system. The perfect interplay between converter and coil essentially determines process reliability and cost-effectiveness for the customer. IAS has therefore combined all core competencies under one roof (converters and coils).
IGBT transistor converters are used to power the heating and melting furnace systems of IAS. The completely digitised systems allow easy access, harmonious integration into existing control systems and efficient service on the converter modules.
IAS manufactures both conventional switchgear and switchgear based on power electronics – individually according to the requirements of the customer. Modern field bus systems are used for the sensors, which minimise the amount of cabling and offer maximum flexibility with regard to the interfaces.
The heating coils are mainly multi-layer designs, which are characterised by high cost-effectiveness. In conjunction with magnetic flux guidance systems and stainless steel housings, electrical efficiencies of over 80% are achieved, depending on the area of application.
